Designed to offer a little something extra, our workshops provide extended fun and learning in our most popular exhibits. We cap them at just a few people, so it's really just for you!

Tickets start at just $10/member, $20/non-member, and include Museum admission unless otherwise noted.

Please note: Adults must purchase their own ticket and accompany children at all times. Workshop ticket purchases are non-refundable, but are transferable to a friend. You must be a current Children's Museum member to receive member pricing on our workshops.

Art Studio Workshops

Water, Paper and Rhythm

Join Artist-in-Residence Sammy Lee to experiment Hanji, a Korean Mulberry paper that can be used to create a cast of any object you choose! Learn to knead, pound and layer the sheets, then take in a casting demo. We’ll provide you with Hanji paper so you can create a cast at home! Ages 3+.

Penguin Pals

Discover the unique traits of penguins from all over the world to get inspiration, then make your own penguin with clay and glaze. Creations will be coated in a clear glaze and ready to pick up two weeks from the workshop date. Ages 3+.

Spinning Masterpiece

Pour, layer and spin to make art! We will experiment with acrylic paint, creating special effects on turntables and banding wheels. After practicing, apply your favorite techniques to a large canvas you’ll take home. Artwork will need a full day to dry. All ages.

Chilly Science

Experiment with the states of matter! We’ll explore dry ice and crystals, plus make maple syrup snow candy and ice cream-in-a-bag to take home. Ages 5+.

Taste of the Mediterranean

Take a trip around the world with your taste buds! As we learn about the cuisine, we’ll whip up heart-healthy vegetable fritters with tzatziki sauce and for dessert, enjoy tasty cinnamon cookies. Ages 3+.
