Our exhibits are designed for newborn through eight years old. Outreach programs serve children Pre-K through third grade. In-house programs serve children Pre-K through third grade.
One chaperone must be present for every five children. Chaperones in the 1:5 ratio get free admission. Additional adults may join for $6 each for self-guided visits or $9 each for program visits. Parents, teachers, or adult caregivers over 18 years old qualify as chaperones.
Group admission is due in a single payment one week before your visit. Membership does not count toward group visits.
Group Visit cancellations must be made and confirmed two weeks in advance or 50% of the full amount due will be charged.
Due to safety and supervision requirements, siblings are not permitted on field trips. Adults supervising children outside the group are not considered chaperones. Siblings and adults outside the group must pay full price admission.
Adult chaperones are responsible for the supervision and safety of children at all times during your visit. If you need help with safety during your visit, talk to any staff member on the museum floor. Basic first aid supplies are available at the front desk. No adults are allowed in the Museum without children, and no children are allowed without adults.
Upon arrival at your scheduled time, please bring your group to the designated Group Entrance on the east side of the Museum. A Museum staffer will be there to greet you.
We do not have indoor facilities for lunch, even in case of inclement weather. Outdoor benches and grassy areas available in Gates Crescent Park on a first-come, first-served basis.
Financial aid is available to support the cost of field trips and outreach programs for eligible schools and childcare centers. Requests for programs modified in content, length, or to fit other ages may be granted, and require a customization fee starting at $50 per program.
