What's on the menu for your visit?

We offer public cooking classes, fee-based workshops, live demos or delicious samples of homemade food in The Teaching Kitchen. Each day is different! 

Please note: All Teaching Kitchen programs and times vary and are subject to change. 

Ingredient of the Month

In May, we'll explore cooking with carrots and make recipes like Moroccan carrot salad and carrot cake pancakes. And in June, oregano will be the star! We'll make recipes like Greek salad with oregano and lemon, blackberry and oregano shortcake.

Cooking Classes

Monday - Saturday, times vary
Try your hand at being a chef with age-appropriate tools and fresh ingredients! Cooking classes are packed with delicious recipes and techniques and tips for cooking with your kiddos. 

Cooking Class Schedule

Monday - Friday: 10 am, 11 am, 12 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm
Saturday: 2 pm, 3 pm, 4 pm
Sunday: Food for Thought drop-in demos and tastings at 11 am and 12 pm

For the safety of our guests, capacity in our cooking classes is limited to 16 participants. Sign-up sheets are posted outside The Teaching Kitchen, first-come, first-served. A parent must accompany their child(ren) in The Teaching Kitchen at all times. Doors open 5 minutes before class and no late admittance is allowed.

Food For Thought

Sundays, 11 am and 12 pm

We'll have tasty samples of homemade food using our ingredient of the month, live demonstrations or a special StoryTime is all about food. 

Food for Thought is drop-in style, no sign-up required. Activities included with Museum admission

Swedish Summer Fare
Wednesday, May 9, 11 am, 12 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm and 4 pm

Here comes summer! Learn to make a traditional Swedish summertime favorite with IKEA Centennial.

Assemble kid-approved kabobs with Western Dairy Association. Use all your favorite veggies, fruits and chunks of cheese, then enjoy your creation with a refreshing yogurt dip.

Edible "Gardens"
Wednesday, June 13, 10 am, 11 am and 12 pm

Join our friends from Children's Hospital Colorado to make your own edible garden. We'll use chocolatey soil, fruity florals and even a few gummy worms to help our "garden" grow, no green-thumb required.

French Chef Series
Tuesdays, April 24, May 29 and June 26, 2 and 3 pm

Practice your culinary skills by making French Cuisine like crepes and pastries with our friends from the French Alliance!
