The Children's Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus began a phased reopening on Thursday, July 16, but things look a little different. Read on to learn all you need to know about the processes and procedures put in place for the safety of your family and our staff, plus find out how to make a reservation to visit the Museum.

Reservation opportunities for August 20 - 22 and August 27 - 29 will become available on Wednesday, August 12 at 10 am. 

Due to cancellations, a limited number of spaces for August 13 - 15 will also be made available at this time.

Additional dates will be released on our website on a regular basis, and we look forward to expanding our hours of operation and capacity as we are safely able to do so and in accordance with our variance to reopen as granted by the City and County of Denver.

  • Three, 90-minute play sessions each day
    • 9 - 10:30 am
    • 11:15 am - 12:45 pm
    • 1:30 - 3 pm
Admissions
  • Members and under age 1: Free
  • Ages 1 and 60+: $12
  • Ages 2 - 59: $14
  • Explorer Pass: $1
Reservations
  • Capacity for each play session is limited to support a safe Museum experience.
  • All guests, including members (free), children under the age of 1 (free) and those utilizing community access programs (Explorer Pass/SNAP, Five by Five etc.), must make a reservation prior to visiting the Museum. No members or guests without a reservation will be permitted.
  • Payment for general admission guests will be accepted when you enter the Museum. Admission for members is free.
  • Check in for your scheduled session will close 30 minutes after it begins. For the safety of our guests and staff, no late admittance will be allowed. No exceptions.
Guest Responsibilities
  • As mandated by the City and County of Denver, all guests ages three (3) and over are required to wear a mask or face covering. Masks/face coverings must be cloth or disposable medical masks, fully cover the nose and mouth, and worn at all times unless seated at a designated table. Face shields and mesh masks are not accepted.
  • We ask that all household groups follow social distancing guidelines and remain 6 feet from other guests, staff and volunteers. Some areas, like admissions, will be marked for distancing.
  • Please be respectful of other guests by following the directional arrows throughout the Museum and adhering to the posted space capacities. 
  • Additional hand sanitizer stations and sanitizing wipes have been placed throughout the Museum.
  • And please, if you or a family member are feeling sick and/or have symptoms related to the COVID-19 virus, like fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, muscle aches, sore throat, or new loss of sense of smell and taste, please stay home. We look forward to welcoming you when you feel better.
Employee Safety Procedures
  • All employees will have their temperature checked prior to starting work.
  • All employees are required to wear a mask at work.
  • All employees are required to follow social distancing guidelines and remain 6 feet from guests, staff and volunteers.
  • Sneeze guards will be in place in the admissions area.
Museum Experience

For the safety of our members, guests and staff, the Museum has opened only the following exhibits at this time:

  • The Art Studio
    • Release your inner Picasso and paint a masterpiece!
  • Joy Park
    • Zip through the air, dig in the sand and race boats down the river!
  • Water
    • Have a splish-splashing good time while making music with raindrops, launching geysers or powering up the bubble towers.

Toys and props for each exhibit, like sand shovels for Joy Park or paint and brushes in The Art Studio, will be available to check out for personal use and will be sanitized after each use. Just look for the specially marked pick up and drop off stations in each exhibit.

Please note: Clay Studio and Adventure Forest will not be open.

Gift Shop

The Gift Shop will be open and will welcome one household group at a time. You can also check out our online store, coming soon.

Café

The Café will continue to offer grab n' go style sandwiches, salads, snacks and beverages. There will be limited seating inside the Café, and guests are welcome to picnic in Joy Park. All tables will be sanitized after each use. Outside food and beverages, aside from bottled water, are discouraged. 

Museum Cleaning Procedures
  • The Museum will utilize the 45 minutes between each play session to thoroughly clean and sanitize the lobby, amenity spaces and exhibits.
  • High-touch surfaces, like restrooms, will be cleaned throughout play sessions.
  • Some surfaces, like dining spaces and toys, will be sanitized immediately following each use.
