As part of ongoing system maintenance, construction crews will be rehabilitating segments of sanitary sewer pipe in our area. This work will impact our parking lot and parts of Water Street during the month of April, and you may notice an odor (like new plastic) during the process. This is normal and will dissipate over time.
We've outlined the anticipated schedule of impacts below, but rest assured, we are OPEN and can't wait to create, explore and discover with you!
Anticipated Timeline
Please keep in mind construction timelines may shift due to weather or unforeseen complications.
Monday, Apil 6 – Wednesday, April 15
- Children’s Museum parking lot: The drive (the area from the parking booth to the top of the horseshoe, see below map for reference) will be under construction. This construction will take place in phases, with the area closest to the Museum undergoing construction starting on Monday, April 6. The construction crews will move up the drive until work is completed.
Monday, April 13 – Saturday, April 25
- Water Street, between the Aquarium and REI (see below map): For a portion of this timeframe, traffic will be down to one lane, with traffic taking turns utilizing the road. Later in construction, the road will close entirely and no traffic will be allowed through – meaning all people who are coming to or exiting the Museum will need to take 23rd Avenue.
Thank you for your patience as the city completes this important work!
