Denver Arts Week

The littlest members of our community will experience the arts in engaging and unique ways!

Explore self-expression and creativity with special interactive programs and kid-friendly performances throughout the week.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

•November 2, 1 p.m. – Nature Collages – Learn about “found art” by creating collages using earth-friendly materials collected from our world.

•November 2, 11:45 a.m. – Glitter Quartet performance - Glitter is an under-25, all-female quartet from Thousand Oaks, CA. They are performing in Denver as part of Sweet Adelines' International Convention competition of nearly 6,000 singers and are making a special appearance at the Children's Museum.

•November 3, 1 p.m. – Abstract Expressions – Learn about abstract art and make unique paintings using marbles, yarn and straws.

•November 3, 5-10 p.m. - Night at the Museums - Kick off Denver Arts Week and PLAY for FREE. Enjoy our interactive exhibits and create intriguing sculptures out of recycled materials such as reclaimed wood and other natural supplies during the Woodworking Sculptures program at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

•November 4, 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. – Colorado Ballet presents From the Page to the Stage - Dancers will perform short excerpts from classic ballets like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and the Nutcracker. Children will learn the fundamentals of ballet and participate in an interactive dance exercise.

•November 4, 1 p.m. – Abstract Expressions – Learn about abstract art and make unique paintings using marbles, yarn and straws.

•November 5, 1 p.m. – Let’s Dance – Strap on your dancing shoes and learn how the Irish express themselves through creative movement.

•November 6, 1 p.m. – The Art of Thanks – Express appreciation for friends and family using your creativity to design unique thank you cards.

•November 7, 1 p.m. – Fabulous Faux Pas – Discover self-acceptance by creating artwork out of swirls, shapes and your imaginations.

•November 7, 5 p.m. - Ukulele Sing & Strum-a-Long with Swallow Hill Music - Your whole family will be playing a tune in just 30 minutes.

•November 8, 1 p.m. – Arts in Motion – Explore self-expression through theater games and amusing characters in this creative-movement program.

•November 9, 1 p.m. – Nature Collages – Learn about “found art” by creating collages using earth-friendly materials collected from our world.

•November 10, 10:30 a.m. - Second Saturday Sing-a-longs - Shakers and rhythm instruments are provided; all you have to do is sing your hearts out.

•November 10, 1 p.m. – Abstract Expressions – Learn about abstract art and make unique paintings using marbles, yarn and straws.


*Please note that adults must be accompanied by children at all Denver Arts Week events at the Children’s Museum. Activities are included Museum admission.
